Job Code: 27140 Salary Grade: 12 Salary Range: $36,008-$55,812 FLSA: Nonexempt

Purpose of Classification:

The purpose of this classification is to process and update property records in departmental databases and computer systems.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Audits map changes and deed transfers; verifies accuracy of information and conformance with established standards; audits information against database records; classifies and reports errors; processes, copies and files all required documentation;

Creates new subdivision, condominium and townhouse property record cards; prepares documents for appraisers; and distributes to appropriate division for field appraisal.

Corrects and updates tax maps; receives and interprets documents sent from other County departments; and draws/inputs sketches of property in departmental database.

Processes exemption and valuation changes; receives and reviews documentation; enters data for exemption changes, value changes, or other changes approved or ordered by Board of Tax Assessors and Superior Court; and submits changes to Tax Commissioner.

Receives and responds to questions concerning ownership, tax mapping problems, missing parcel data, etc; answers questions and provides information; conducts research; and initiates problem resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required, vocational or technical training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), computer science, or a related field; two years of experience in GIS; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
